cannot import strategy due to unhandled exception error

I tried many things but the problem persists:
    - unlink onedrive documents folder. (change registry value like here https://superuser.com/questions/1205...edrive-account)
    - uninstall onedrive software
    - uninstall NT8. restart machine. remove all NT8 folder in document. install NT8
    - import the strategy, and the error still the same: unhandled exception: the process cannot access the file ... because it is being used by another process

    Hello PhuHa,

    Thank you for the message.

This message normally means that something within Windows or the PC is holding onto one of the processes that NinjaTrader needs to run.
    • You have already done most of the steps that we could provide to troubleshoot that error message.

You could check the Windows Controlled Folder Access, Firewall, and also if you have an Antivirus, disable it and test again.
    • Windows Controlled Folder Access
      • Ensure that the Windows Controlled Folder Access is not preventing you from accessing the necessary folders:
        • From your Windows desktop, select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection.
        • Under Virus & threat protection settings, select Manage settings.
        • Under Controlled folder access, select Manage Controlled folder access.
        • Switch the Controlled folder access setting to Off.
For more information visit the publicly available site below:
    • Windows Firewall
    • Antivirus Software
      • Ensure that NinjaTrader has been added to any 'Exceptions' or 'Allowed Programs/Apps' kind of list within your antivirus software.
        • If you need to add NinjaTrader manually, the file path is as follows:
          • This PC > Local Disk (C: > Program Files > NinjaTrader 8 > bin > NinjaTrader.exe
        • If you are unsure of how to do this, what antivirus software is on your computer?

If the same error continues appearing, you will need to reach out to a Windows or PC Technician for further help investigating what in the computer keeps holding onto the Processes and figure out what needs to be done to make it stop and avoid it moving forward.
    • Unfortunately, there are no other settings within NinjaTrader itself to address this error so you would need to reach out to a Windows or PC Support team for further help investigating the cause of this and resolving it

Once you are no longer getting the error from Windows, the NinjaTrader Support team would be able to provide further help and assistance with NinjaTrader itself.

Please let us know if we may provide any further assistance.

I did the last two already. Since i'm using bitdefender so the controlled folder access will not be available for me to change. Anything else that i can troubleshoot and share with you for further investigation?

        Hello PhuHa,

        Thank you for the update.

The biggest suggestion we could have made was to do a completely fresh installation of NinjaTrader and test if it keeps happening. Which you already did.
        • "- uninstall NT8. restart machine. remove all NT8 folder in document. install NT8"

This would have resulted in a "Clean" installation of NinjaTrader.
        • Since the behavior continues on the completely fresh installation, this would mean that the behavior is coming from something else in your PC.
          • This doesn't happen when I do a fresh installation of NinjaTrader on my PC.
        • Also, there are no further settings within NinjaTrader itself that would have control over other processes holding onto an item or getting them to let go.

As a last suggestion, you could install all Windows and Driver updates, restart the computer, and then try again.
        • If the message still appears, you will need to reach out to a Windows or PC Technician for more help finding the cause of this and getting it to stop moving forward.

Please let us know if we may provide any further assistance.
