Hi, I have a question about logging and or exporting trade data.

The moment a live trade is completed, using an API or other means, is it possible to automatically download the trade data to be used in excel or google sheets?

I do plan on seeking help if what I'd like to do is doable. However, the first step is to talk to the developers of the NinjaTrader application to see if what they have developed is doable.

Do you have a developer/programmer at NinjaTrader that has the knowledge to know if the API"s developed within the the NT organization can automatically download the trade data to be used in excel or google sheets after the trade is excecuted?

Trader146 Hi, Before I reach out for help, I'd like to know if what I want to do can be done. Can order data be sent to a Google Sheet live after the order is executed?

I'm looking to log trades live as they occur. If it's not doable, I don't need help.

It would not be something that we could create for you. If anything our Scripting team could assist you in troubleshooting something if you already have the foundation for something like this already created.

Luis, Thanks for your reply. Maybe I'm not communicating my needs very well. I need to know if Ninjatrader has the tools/api's available so I can build the foundation for what I want to do.

Using NinjaTrader API's can I download trade data live as it happens to google sheets? If it can be programmed with API's already available, great. I'll get it done. But if NT does not have these function available then it's a non-starter. so "Yes it can be done with the NT API", or "no it can't be done" is all I really need as my first step.

So you don't just want the data exported to you sheets or excel file, you want api access, correct? I can help you with auto export, but I'd have to research api access. Please clarify.

Can you clarify if you want API access, or are trying to do this via NinjaScript?

With NinjaScript, you can use StreamWriter to write information to a text file.

With the API, you can receive real-time data. As far as how you can send the data to Google Sheets using this method, that would be out of our scope of support.

The Application Programming Interface (API) is available in the form of a .NET managed assembly dll file, with the name NinjaTrader.Client.dll, for you to use in an external application to interface with NinjaTrader.

Support for the API is limited from NinjaTrader Support. While we are not able to assist with any code in an application external to NinjaTrader, we are able to detail the usage of any methods available from the API.

Below I am providing a link to the help guide that lists the functions available to the API.

The NinjaTrader.Client.dll can be found in:
