    Frozen crypto charts, no movement

    Hello NinjaTrader community,

    I have problems with the crypto charts in the desktop version of Ninja Trader. My chart for cryptocurrencies is frozen and the last candle has no movement. I have of course subscribed to the live data. I tested this on many crypto chats, BTCUSD, ETHUSD or ADAUST. Unfortunately no movement.
    The LIVE data for the other instruments works (HG, CL, NQ or 6E).

    Can someone help me here? Thank you very much!!!

    Thank you for the message.

    The Coinbase connection is temporarily not working until the next update of NinjaTrader has been released.
    • Coinbase had made some changes to its servers that required a new release of NinjaTrader to be able to connect again.

    So, once the next update to NinjaTrader is available, make the update and then the Coinbase connection should be working again.
    • Unfortunately, we do not have a timeline on when the update will be released, but we are hoping for sooner than later.

    As a side note, once the Coinbase connection works again, it is NOT possible to Sim or Live Trade Cryptocurrencies through NinjaTrader. They can only be charted for analysis.

      Hey Clayton,

      If the Coinbase connection isn't currently working, why can I see the past chart history and when I reopen the chart I see a new price, but it's frozen again?

      And can you tell me how long this problem has existed?

        Thank you for the update.

        I could have better said my answer as, "The Coinbase connection is not working as expected."
        • If you look in the Control Center > Log tab, for most users it was showing/causing a repeated Connected/Connection Lost cycle.

        While I am having trouble finding the exact date this started, I know this happened when Coinbase made some changes to the servers or server addresses that needed to be used for the connection, and then it hasn't worked as expected within NinjaTrader since.

        Again, this will be addressed once the next update to NinjaTrader is available.
        • Go to the Control Center > Help > About. If you are on version 8.1.3.1, then you will prompted on the day the update is available to get help auto-updating the platform.

          they did improve the connection for not dropping constantly on coinbase with BTC with the 8.1.4 update which is great! however other cryptos like XRP etc that are all supported on coinbase. anytime frame for their fix?

          .... the only remedy i have found is to sign up for tradingview and export the csv file but that costs an extra 25$ a month...so looking for a viable solution in nt8 ... thank you in advance for anyone that has discovered alternative ways of importing crypto in to nt8.
