Adding APEX to my NinjaTrader desktop platform

    Hi Traders,
I have a brokerage account with NinjaTrader in Chicago and I also have eval and PA accounts with APEX trader funding. Recently I needed to configure a new machine and I guess you all know the old licensing framework has gone away in favor of a subscription based model. In looking at this page of instructions on the APEX site on 12/4/2024:

you will notice that the instruction page does not tell you that you need to import your APEX license key before you download the desktop platform. I had to do that before I was able to see my APEX accounts show on my accounts tab. So if like me, you skipped that step, you may need to uninstall NinjaTrader, import your key on your ninjatrader.com account, and then download a fresh copy of the desktop software. Your mileage may vary.

    Hello Berry Trader,

    Thank you for the message.

NinjaTrader hasn't required license keys since July 19th, 2024.

Any new user who signs up for a "NinjaTrader" username automatically has the "Evaluation (Rithmic)" Entitlement added these days. (This is what was given by the Evaluation License Keys back in the day)

So, a user just needs to follow the connection guide without adding any extra steps and should be connected by the end of it.

If a user is in fact having trouble with their evaluation connection, then it would be best for them to write in directly to ClientServices[AT]NinjaTrader[DOT]com
    • Include the Evaluation provider your account is with
    • Include your NinjaTrader Username
    • For bonus points, include the Log and Trace files:
      • Open Windows File Explorer (hotkey = Windows key + E) Then navigate to, "Documents" (sometimes called, "My Documents") > 'NinjaTrader 8' folder or "NinjaTrader 7' folder
      • Right-click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
      • Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to this email.
      • Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.

Please let us know if we may provide any further assistance.
