Price Spikes That Never Happened
I encounter this issue A LOT with this platform but I'm currently dealing with it when trying to backtest. But, why do we get these huge price moves? When using live data, I've had to close the program and restart it to get rid of these ridiculously large candles that never happened. But, with backtesting, there doesn't seem to be a way to get rid of it. And it happens whenever I use the slider to rewind or fast forward. I've posted an image of what I'm talking about. All the way to the right. I checked the live data for that same time period and that never happened.1 PhotoTags: None

This can occur if you are missing historical data for the date and time you are replaying. Please disconnect from the playback connection->Connect to your normal data provider->Load historical data within your chart for the date and instrument you are replaying.
Once historical data has populated in the chart disconnect then test the playback connection again.Christopher J.NinjaTrader Customer Service

I'm gonna have to disagree with that because it happens only when I move the slider. But if I let it replay over that same time period on it's own without moving the slider to it, then the large bars don't occur.Originally posted by NinjaTrader_ChristopherJ View PostThis can occur if you are missing historical data for the date and time you are replaying. Does the replay only load data as it's playing? So if you were to use the slider to skip over some time...Originally posted by MoneyTrust View PostI'm gonna have to disagree with that because it happens only when I move the slider. What finally seemed to work was selection "Reload Historical Data" before pressing play. So far, I don't have that issue since doing that.Originally posted by NinjaTrader_ChristopherJ View PostIf you right click in the playback controller->Go to->Input a new date/time then click Ok do you see the same behavior?Last edited by MoneyTrust; 11-28-2024, 12:01 PM.
