bars not in sync

This is bizarre but shouldn't the closing price of the one bar equal the opening price of the next bar?
Am i missing something obvious?

Thank you for the message.

The Close does not always equal the Open. It depends on what kind of chart Interval you are looking at and the market data at that time.


While a Time based chart would often have the same open as prior Close, if the first tick of the new bar is at a new price level, the open would have been at a different price of the Close from the prior bar.

• So, it is more than possible for the Open of one bar to be different than the Close of the prior.

As a side note for the future, if you ever take a screenshot for support, make sure to include the entire chart window as it also tells us the Instrument, Interval, Time of trading, and Price the bars are showing at.

• For example, every section shown in a Red Box of the screenshot below provides the support team with vital and useful information
