Import of indicator failing, help needed

    Good morning,

I just bought a custom indicator and I'm having trouble importing it into NT8. I have 2 PCs with a full NT8 setup and whereas on one of the machines the import worked without any issues, my main PC is having an issue that I just can't sort out somehow.

Please see screenshots attached with the error message "Import failed" as well as the specific entries under the "Log" tab.

The error codes are CS0111 and CS0102.

Do you have any idea how I could sort this out and work around it?

The developer does not know how to help me and on my other NT8 machine everything worked without issues.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Hello davidhuels,

    Thank you for the message.

These error messages mean you already have files in there with similar names or defining the same values.
    • You can either keep working with the developer of your add-ons to get their help only removing the few files that are in the way of your new add-on

Or, follow the steps below to remove ALL of the 3rd party add-ons so you can then reimport them back in 1-by-1 and narrow in on the cause of this behavior.

To remove all 3rd party NinjaScript Items from the platform to start fresh:
    • Close NinjaTrader
    • Go to the Documents folder > NinjaTrader 8 > bin, Right-click on this folder and Rename it to "bin Old" and press Enter to save the name change
    • Now we need to Repair the NinjaTrader installation:
      • Go to the Windows Control Panel > Programs and Features > Click NinjaTrader 8 > Click Repair > Click Next through the prompts until finished
    • Reopen NinjaTrader and check for compile errors using the steps below:
      • Go to New > NinjaScript Editor > Right-click on the background and Compile to show if there are any errors remaining
      • If yes, take a screenshot of the error messages and include that in your response.
From here, you can reimport your add-ons back in 1-by-1 to narrow in on what was causing the errors in the first place.

Please let us know if we may provide any further assistance.
