Can you stop putting ridiculous account balances in my NT8?

Much as I would love to accidentally get 25 million in my account, it's unlikely.

Can you explain why this sort of thing always happens when the FX markets close at 17:00 each day and I happen to be holding an open position at that time?

It's a little disconcerting now that it is also happening in a live account - I thought this was just a glitch on sim account.

    Hello Irukandji,

    Thank you for your post.

It appears you are experiencing a significant fluctuation in your account balance when holding an FX position through the market close at 17:00. This issue can arise due to how NinjaTrader handles Forex margin calculations and balance display, particularly when the liquidity drops at the end of the trading session.

Here are some potential causes and considerations:
    1. Market Close Impact on Liquidity: Forex liquidity tends to decrease sharply at the market close (17:00 EST). This lower liquidity can cause price spikes or gaps, which can lead to unusual P&L displays on open positions. This is due to the spread widening significantly at that time, impacting the unrealized P&L and balance.
    2. Platform Display Adjustment: NinjaTrader calculates and displays unrealized P&L based on current bid/ask prices. If there's a sudden price shift at the close, especially with low liquidity, the displayed balance may reflect these temporary price discrepancies. This can lead to seemingly inflated or deflated balance values when holding positions during the market close.
    3. Daily Rollover Calculations: For Forex, some brokerages apply a daily rollover (swap or interest) adjustment at the market close, which can affect your balance display. If you see these changes at the same time every day, it's likely due to this rollover adjustment.
    4. Simulated Accounts: If you’re using a simulated or demo account, keep in mind that simulated environments may not always reflect realistic balance updates, especially at session closes.
    Recommended Steps
    1. Check with Your Broker: Confirm if they apply specific adjustments or spreads at the market close, which might cause these fluctuations.
    2. Avoid Holding Through Market Close: If possible, consider closing positions before 17:00 EST to avoid the effects of low liquidity and spread widening.
    3. Enable Market Data Recording: To better analyze these fluctuations, consider recording market data during the close to review later. This can be done in the Control Center > Tools > Options > Market Data and select "Record for playback".
    4. Monitor in Real-Time: Observe your balance and account display closer to the market close to determine if any specific instruments or settings impact this display.

For further investigation, please send us your log and trace files:
    1. Go to Control Center > Help > Email Support.
    2. Expand "Other files" and enable "Log and trace files."
    3. Reference your concern about balance fluctuation at market close.

I look forward to resolving this item for you.

The ask bid price on the chart trader in your screenshot is -1. Perhaps has something to do with that
