Volume per user defined region

Hi NT,
Is there a way to select an x-axis region on the chart (arbitrary example: 10:55 to 11:45) and display the cumulative volume for that time period?

To display cumulative volume for a specific time range on a NinjaTrader 8 chart, you can use the following approach:

1. Order Flow Volume Profile:
   • If you have access to NinjaTrader’s Order Flow+ suite, the Order Flow Volume Profile can help display cumulative volume across a custom time range.
   • Right-click on the chart and select Indicators.
   • Add the Order Flow Volume Profile indicator.
   • In the indicator settings, adjust the Profile Period to match the time span you want to view (e.g., set start and end times if the version supports custom time profiles).
   • This will visually represent the volume profile for that specific period directly on the chart.
2. Cumulative Delta:
   • Another option within Order Flow+ is the Cumulative Delta indicator, which shows cumulative buy and sell volumes.
   • Access it by right-clicking on your chart, selecting Indicators, and adding Order Flow Cumulative Delta.
   • Set up this indicator to observe volume trends over the chosen interval.
3. Custom NinjaScript:
   • For full customization, you could create a custom NinjaScript indicator or modify an existing volume indicator. This script would calculate cumulative volume between specified times (e.g., 10:55 and 11:45).
   • If you're comfortable with coding or have access to a developer, this would allow for precise control over the exact display and functionality.
4. Chart Markings:
   • Another approach is manually using Region Highlight X drawing tools to mark the period from 10:55 to 11:45 on the x-axis and overlay any existing volume indicators.
   • This doesn’t create a cumulative volume reading directly but helps visually isolate the time period.

Thank you Erick. Appreciate the answer given.

I had hoped there was an easier and free way to do it.

There is the stock NT8 volume up/down indicator, and you can imagine just adding all the bars you wish to sum together based on a range selection. It's of course easy to do manually if it is a matter of summing only a few bars, but imagine tens or hundreds of bars.

Basically it would be a Data Series window, but for a region rather than just one bar.

Thank you for your message.

With the Order Flow tools like the Order Flow Volume Profile and Volumetric Bars, you would get a closer result to what you are trying to accomplish.

Please note that on your Chart, you can choose how many days/bars you want to load, and then change the end date. This could help you plot the Volume for a particular day.
