    Chart will not stop loading

Over the weekend, I added the 30 minute, 60 minute and daily charts to my 2000 tick chart so that I can see the 30 minute, 60 minute and daily EMA's. I added these onto the same pane as my 2000 tick chart. I was then able to see the EMA's from the different time frames on the 2000 tick chart.
When I logged in this morning, the 2000 tick chart will not stop loading. I rebooted and I still get the same Loading... in the upper left had corner. The charts I have open are not allowing me to click on the chart or do anything on it.

The time scale seems incorrect at times too. It looks like it is trying to display non-daylight savings time when in fact it should not. You can see in the attachment that it's using 11:00 am which is incorrect since the current time is 10:30 am.

How can I get ninjatrader to stop loading so I can undo what I did?

    Hello dpkelly999,

    Thank you for the message.

It is possible that if you changed the "Days to load" setting of the 2000 Tick data series to be further back to match the Daily chart's default of 365 days, this could be causing a much longer load time.

It would most likely be easiest to close this chart window and then re-create it adding things back in, saving the workspace, and then restarting the platform to make sure the chart loads back in.
    • If it gets stuck "Loading" forever again, then you know the last thing you added or changed is causing the longer load times and can change it back.

If you don't use any 3rd party add-ons, you could open NinjaTrader in Safe Mode, Close and then reopen your workspace, and then make the changes as desired and save it. Then restart back like normal.
    • If you use 3rd party add-ons, the these steps would remove all of the 3rd party add-ons from your workspace and you'd have to add them back in once you are back in Normal mode.
      • If you don't use any 3rd party add-ons and want to test this in Safe Mode:
        • How Do I Open NinjaTrader Desktop in Safe Mode?
        • Don't connect to data
        • Close and then reopen your workspace to make the windows load in
        • Make the changes as desired.
        • Save the workspace and open the platform like normal
        • Once connected to data, right-click on the charts and select "Reload all historical data"

Please let us know if we may provide any further assistance.

I placed ninjatrader offline and the loading eventually stopped. This allowed me to fix the number of days to load of one of the EMA indicators which was way too long for what I needed. I probably overlooked this one setting on one of the EMA's. Thanks for your response and for sharing how to use safemode.
