Ninja Script Files not backing up properly

    Hi there guys,
Please see attached message I'm getting when trying to backup my Ninja Trader 8. Obviously this isn't ideal as when I move to a new machine I'll need all these files transferred.
    Many thanks,
    Adam.

    Hello DJ888,

    Thank you for reaching out.

You will need to make sure there are no compile errors within your scripts before you can properly back up.

Please follow the instructions below to see where the errors are coming from after compiling the scripts.
    • Open NinjaTrader
    • From the Control Center select the New menu--> select NinjaScript Editor
    • Right-click in the window and select Compile to compile all NinjaScript objects
    • At the bottom of the NinjaScript Editor window, a new section will appear where you can find the error locations
    • You can exclude the file referenced in the editor by double-clicking on the appropriate object type on the right of the NinjaScript Editor window. This will expand the object type folder. You can then select the file with a left-click--> right click on the object--> then select Open to begin debugging the file, Exclude From Compilation, or Remove to delete the file.

If you are unsure as to what the error is indicating, please send me a screenshot of the NinjaScript File column and Error column fully visible (not to be confused with the Code column)
    • To send a screenshot with Windows 7 or newer I would recommend using Windows Snipping Tool.
    • Alternatively to send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screenshot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CTRL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save as a jpeg file and send the file as an attachment.

      Hi Erik,
Thanks so much for your reply however I'm really lost as to how to proceed.
I've done as you requested and have taken a screenshot of the error - they are all the same - NinZaSolarWind_NT8.cs file.
This is a add on from a third party that has been updated.
I believe that I have already have removed this ninja script assembly however it still seems to be giving me issues. I removed it on advice from the third party and updated it with the new version of the add on however it's still appearing in this error log - very strange.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated Erik as it's stopping me from being able to backup properly and may be causing other issues.
      Many thanks in advance,
      Adam.
      PS. Please see attached screenshot.
PPS.. I know nothing about debugging etc etc - sorry.

        Hi again Erik,
Just thought to let you know that I've tried the suggested action of going into windows and selecting programs, highlighting NT8 and then clicking repair - however the error is still there on restart??

          Hlello DJ888,

Thank you very much for your screenshot.

This error is caused when NinjaTrader is searching for a reference to a .dll file, and the reference does not exist.
Below I have included the steps to resolve these compile errors:
          • Right-click within the NinjaScript Editor window and select "References".
          • Click "Add".
          • Locate the .dll file for the file mentioned in the error ("NinZaSolarWind_NT8.dll" & and any others for which you see error CS0246. Once you resolve this main class of errors, when you compile, all others should be resolved as well).
          • Click "Open" to add the reference.
          • Click "OK" and recompile.
          • Repeat until there are not more compile errors
Also for your reference I have included a link to a video demonstrating these steps:Please let us know if we may be of any further assistance.
