    AI Generate Issues

    AI generate stops working after a couple of minutes of processing. How do i get this process to complete?

    Thank you for the message.

    I am not aware of an "AI Generate" Feature within NinjaTrader.

    Please take a screenshot of what you are referring to and include that in your response.
    • To send a screenshot with Windows 10 or newer I would recommend using the Windows Snipping Tool.
    • Alternatively to send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screenshot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CTRL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save it as a jpeg file and send the file as an attachment.

      I launch the strategy analyzer... then go to Backtest type AI generate and press run. It only gets to iteration 102ish before it stops. it doesn't give any results nor does it give any errors.

        Hello ageeholdings,

        If you significantly reduce the number of days being optimized over (try doing 1 day), are you still seeing this behavior?

        I also recommend reviewing this HG page that goes over factors that impact optimization performance.

          Yes, i get the same result even for one day. Is there an error log i can review?

            Hello,

            The Log tab of the Control Center would contain any error messages.

            Can you also clarify, is it simply freezing or is the optimization finishing with no results?

            If you reduce Generation, generation size, threshold, and keep # of best results parameters are you seeing better performance?

              It is running and when it reaches roughly 100 iterations it stops and the screen refreshes and I am able to press run again. No results are displayed. I t does that every time I press run. I reduced the time frame and get the same results. I will change the other settings to see what happens.

                Hello ageeholdings,

                I would like you to please test on a fresh install.

                You may follow the steps listed below to completely uninstall and reinstall NinjaTrader.
                • Close all running applications.
                • Navigate to your Documents folder > Right-click on the 'NinjaTrader 8' folder > Rename > rename the folder to 'NinjaTrader 8 OLD'. DO NOT delete this folder.
                • Uninstall NinjaTrader within Windows Control Panel.
                • Navigate to C:\ > Program File > Delete the 'NinjaTrader 8' folder if it exists
                • Reboot your PC.
                • Once these steps are completed, download and install NT8 from the link below:
                • After you have reinstalled NinjaTrader, recreate your Live Connection.
                ​After completing the fresh install, test by running the AI Generate. Are you still seeing the same behavior?
