Candles Change Colors Away From Preferred Settings

Hello,
I have a saved chart layout with determined candle style, colors, width, etc. Whenever I change from minutes to range bars, the color and thickness revert to default every time. What am I doing wrong?

The behavior you're describing happens due to a change in bar types. NinjaTrader allows specific custom settings (such as candle styles, colors, thickness, etc.) for different chart types like time-based bars, tick-based, or range bars, but these settings do not automatically carry over when you switch from one type to another. This is because each bar type can have its own saved template.

Here’s how you can resolve this:

1. Set the desired properties: First, set the desired color, style, and thickness for your current bar type (for example, Range bars).
2. Save the chart settings:
   • Right-click on the chart.
   • Select Templates > Save As Default. This will save the settings for the current chart type.
   • If you change between bar types, apply this process each time after configuring the properties.
3. Switch between bar types: When switching bar types, NinjaTrader will load the default settings for that specific bar type unless you have saved a custom template for it as mentioned.
