Strategy analyzer not pulling selected date range

    Hi
Running latest version of NT8 desktop. Trying to run strategy analyzer from 10/2/23-10/18/24 and only goes back to 10/27. I know I have run this strategy before back further so I don't know what has happened. I did just clear my data. Also interesting I can open a 3 min NQ chart and load data back to 9/17. I looked a lot online but can't figure out. I have deleted the cache folder.
    Thanks, Mark

    Hello Marklhc1988,

    Thank you for reaching out.

beyond a certain date range, despite your 3-minute chart being able to load data further back.

Here are some possible steps to resolve the issue:
    1. Check Data Availability: Confirm whether the data is available for the specified date range within your data provider. If you're using a live data feed, you may be missing historical data for the selected instrument within that period. Verify with your data provider if the historical data is available for the full date range.
    2. Check Days to Load Settings: In the Strategy Analyzer, ensure that your "Days to Load" setting covers the required date range. This can be set in the "Data Series" window in the Strategy Analyzer. Make sure this is set to load enough days to cover your backtest period.
    3. Global Merge Policy: Verify that your Global Merge Policy settings are configured correctly. To do this:
      • Navigate to Tools > Options > Market Data.
      • Check the "Global Merge Policy." If it is set to "Do Not Merge," consider changing it to "MergeBackAdjusted" or "MergeNonBackAdjusted" to allow rollover data to be merged for continuous contracts.
    4. Cleared Historical Data: Since you mentioned that you recently cleared your data, NinjaTrader may be rebuilding the data cache for your Strategy Analyzer, causing it not to load all data immediately. Try reloading historical data by going to the Control Center, right-clicking on your chart, and selecting "Reload All Historical Data" to ensure that all required data is available for your backtest.
    5. Cache Clearing and Data Refresh: If you've already deleted the cache folder, restarting NinjaTrader might help rebuild any missing data caches. Also, deleting other historical data folders such as 'Tick,' 'Minute,' or 'Day' under Documents > NinjaTrader 8 > db can force NinjaTrader to reload fresh data from your provider.
    6. Log and Trace Files: Lastly, there could be an underlying issue not readily apparent. I would recommend providing your log and trace files so that we can further investigate any potential errors. To do this:
      • Open the Control Center > Help > Email Support.
      • Check 'Log and Trace Files' and send them as a zip attachment.

These steps should help you resolve the issue or at least identify if there’s an error. If the problem persists, please feel free to send those log and trace files.

I look forward to resolving this item for you.
