Adjust the number of Volume Profiles
How do you adjust the number of individual volume profiles? For instance, if I have a 5 minute chart going back 60 days but I don’t need profiles going back that far. For a 5 minute chart, probably 5 days worth of profiles would be sufficient.Tags: None

Hello gig618 ,
Thank you for your post!
To adjust the number of individual volume profiles on your NinjaTrader 8 chart, you can modify the settings within the "Order Flow Volume Profile" indicator. Here's a step-by-step guide to reduce the amount of volume profiles shown:- Open the Chart:
- Right-click on your chart where you have the Volume Profiles.
- Select Indicators from the context menu.
- Select Volume Profile Indicator:
- In the Configured section on the right, find and select Order Flow Volume Profile (or the specific profile indicator you are using).
- Click on it to open its settings.
- Adjust the Profile Period:
- In the Properties section of the indicator, locate the setting for Profile period.
- Change the profile period from Daily to another interval based on how many profiles you want, such as Session, Bar, or Custom Range.
- Limit Data to a Shorter Time Frame:
- You can also limit the number of days loaded in your chart:
- Right-click on the chart and select Data Series.
- In the Days to load section, reduce the number of days from 60 to 5 (or your desired number). This will ensure that the chart only shows volume profiles for the last 5 days.
- You can also limit the number of days loaded in your chart:
- Apply the Changes:
- After adjusting the settings, click OK to apply them to the chart.
By setting a shorter profile period and reducing the number of days loaded, you will be able to see fewer profiles on your chart. Let me know if you have any further questions or need additional assistance!

Erick, thank you for your reply, but this does not work. For instance, if I have a 15 minute chart going back let's say 60 days, but I don't want the session profiles going back that far. Let's say I only need the profiles to go back 10 days. Changing the Profile Type only indicates what consists of each profile, but has nothing to do the with total number of profiles. As it is, the whole chart is full of profiles, but I want to limit the number of profiles. So instead of say, 200 profiles, I only want 20 profiles. I don't see a way to do this. I am a former ThinkorSwim user, and you can do this in that platform. I would be surprised if this wasn't possible in NT.
