IB TWS connection with NT - Missing Data

    Hello,

I have a brokerage account at Interactive Brokers. Using the TWS, I managed to connect the TWS via API with NT8 which works fine so far.
I am running a live datafeed for US Stocks in the TWS. No problem there.

Problem is, that the charts in NT are updating and receiving and drawing live candles, but always after switching a symbol, the chart starts drawing again from scratch. All historical data for the recent day gets lost.

Same when trying to "Reload all historical data" in the NT chart: Chart is drawing again from scratch.
I tried the connection via TWS Latest / stable and the IB gateway. Allways same result.

Attached you will find a chart which was created after opening NT8 at 12:20 today. All data from the open 9:30 to this point is missing. Data from the days before is ok
    Is this issue already known?

    Thanks for help.

    Regards André

    Hello Mirasol,

    Thank you for reaching out.

Just to confirm are there any errors in your Control Center -> Log tab regarding data or connections?

For the IBKR-NT8 connection to work properly, you would not want to be on the latest build of TWS/Gateway.

When using an Interactive Brokers account to connect to NinjaTrader, you must use the version of Trader Workstation or IB Gateway that is specified within the NinjaTrader — Interactive Brokers Connection Guide seen below:

Once you have the version of Trader Workstation or IB Gateway as specified above, connect to your account within TWS or IB Gateway.
    • After you are connected in TWS or IB Gateway, you are then able to connect to the account within NinjaTrader.

From here connect to your account and test if the charts are updating.

If the charts are still not updating properly, please use the steps below to reset the instruments:
    1. Disconnect from any data providers by navigating to the Control Center > Connections menu, and left-click on “disconnect” that appears to the right when hovering your mouse over any active connection
    2. Reset your instruments by navigating to the Control Center > Tools > Database Management
    3. In the Database Management window, under the “Update instruments” section, ensure that “General properties”, "Futures expiries" and “Symbol mappings” options are checked and then click Update
    4. Restart NinjaTrader

Reopen NinjaTrader and connect to your account/data and test if the charts are updating.
    • If they are still not updating, please let us know so we may look into the behavior further.

Please let us know if we may provide any further assistance.

      Hello Erick,

thanks a lot for your help.
I did run the latest version of TWS and Gateway, which I downloaded last week from IB, when I opened my account.

So I deinstalled now the Gateway, just to check and installed the recommended version. Its still the same issue.(see attached file).
When I started NT8 again, it had at least the data from today. But as soon as I change the symbol and go back to aapl it starts collecting the data again and doesn´t fill the gap
I also checked the point in the databasemanagement.
No errors also in the control center. Datafeed is connected and I receive the account data from IB

      Regards
      André

        Hello Mirasol,

        Thank you for your message.

Are currently connected to your Live IBKR account or the Paper account?

Does the same occur if you Go to Tools -> Options -> Market Data and enable the setting called:

        "Record live data as historical"

Then go back to your Charts to test for gaps after switching symbol.

Please see this link to confirm that data the IBKR connection provides NT8:

If you are still experiencing the same after reviewing the above:

Please send in your log and trace files so that we may look more into what may be occurring.

You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support

Make sure to categorize your request at the top.

Ensure 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default.

If you could also provide the screenshot of what you are seeing, that would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance, we look forward to helping resolve this issue for you.

          Hello Erick,
its the same on the live and the sim account. Also the recording of the live data as historical, does not change anything. I cant reload any of the historical data.
But I know from a friend, that he has the same issue regarding the IB NT8 connection. We checked and compared this last friday.
I will send my log and trace files.
          Thanks for help so far.
