    Questions about Limit ATM order

Hello. Have I understood these points correctly:

    1. Once placed the Limit ATM order is waiting at the server to be filled and not waiting on my own computer to react correct?
I would presume also the stop loss market order that is part of the Limit ATM is also waiting in the server before the Limit ATM order is executed to avoid any errors in triggering in fast moving markets? (I've noticed some errors in demo with SL not being accepted in fast moving markets which ofcourse I would presume in demo are being executed by my own computer.)
    2. The stop loss once active is being triggered once the price ticks to the stop loss level correct (and never before this tick) that you can see visually in chart?

    Thanks

    Hello johntraderuser2.,

    Thank you for posting.

    1. This will depend on the broker you are connected to and the connection technology used for the connection. I have provided a link below to our Support Forum that goes over Where Orders and OCO Reside. All simulation orders with the Sim101 account are held locally on your PC.Keep in mind if you have an ATM Strategy attached to your order this functionality is held locally on your PC therefore for the ATM Strategy to submit your Stop Loss and Profit Target when your entry order executed NinjaTrader would need to be open and connected.

    2. Correct the Stop Loss would only be triggered once that price level has been met and not before.

Let me know if I may be of further assistance.

Thanks for your answer it cleared it up a bit.

If I ask you now then directly, I need a limit order with a attached stop loss market order that are always triggered and executed no matter volatility, how would I achieve this?
(target is less urgent for me)

If you would like for your ATM Strategy Stop Loss to be a Stop Market within your ATM Strategy settings expand the "More" section->Disable "Stop limit for stop loss" however we cannot guarantee a execution depending on market conditions, volatility, etc.

The limit option for market SL is deactivated. Once limit order with the ATM is sent, the Limit order is waiting at the server and also the market SL will be in the server or is this SL dependent upon my computer?

When connected to the NinjaTrader/Tradovate connection if the orders are showing as Working or Accepted state in the Orders tab these would reside on either the broker server or the exchange.

With this connection however the OCO functionality is held locally on your PC therefore for the OCO to trigger if one order is executed NinjaTrader would need to be open and connected to your live account.

Thanks for response! So if I understand you correctly the Limit order is at the server only and the market SL is waiting for the Limit to be executed before it's sent, or are both Limit entry and market SL on the computer only?

What do I need to sign up for if I want BOTH Limit entry and the attached market SL to reside on the server for the fastest execution possible, what are my options?

Currently the Stop Loss and Profit Target won't be submitted until your entry order has been executed and unfortunately there is not an option to have these orders submitted prior to being entered into your position.

Thanks for clearing this up that this option is not available with your service. No options with any other service connected to your services either I would presume they all are lacking this option such as IB or?

Could you provide me with a exit order script if a single trade exceeds a certain dollar amount incase the SL is rejected and that pop up appears instead and let me know how to enable it? I'm guessing this would act as an 'extra' stop loss incase the ATM SL would be rejected in case of a 'too fast' for the computer to handle situation (since it's not in the server/exchange).

So I may look into another option can you tell me if you connect to only your NinjaTrader account within NinjaTrader Desktop or do you currently connect to multiple connections?

If you are only using NinjaTrader as your connection you can use server side ATM Strategies under Tools> Options> Strategies> ATM Strategies. Keep in mind this is still in Beta and we highly recommend reading through the following Help Guide and the differences between Local and Server Side ATMs as there are differences to be aware of when using this feature.

Thanks for the info! So I can always count on SL being triggered after Limit order filled on server side ATMs even in volatile markets (unlike local ATMs)?
