How can I get all available $VIX data and live $VIX data

I'm developing a strategy that requires me to pull $VIX data however currently I can only see data from 2021-2024. Additionally I need live $VIX data, is there an external connection I could buy to get this?
Yearly chart on the VIX only goes back to 2021

Thank you for the message.

If you have a NinjaTrader Brokerage account and are getting the ^VIX data from there, it would go back to 2021 as that is all the data that is saved on the historical data servers for this instrument.

Here is an example of what it looks like in my platform (Yearly charts are built using Daily bars, so it would only go back to 10/25/2021)

If you need more historical data than that, you would have to reach out to the other supported providers or look for a Historical Data Provider and get the desired data from them and import it into NinjaTrader:

• Data by Provider - List of supported connections and what instruments they support. You would have to reach out to them directly and ask them how much of each type of data they would provide.
• How to Import Historical Data - Steps to import Historical Data into the platform after you get it from a 3rd party company that provides historical data.
