    Order Flow Volume Profile

When I plot a composite profile, using the parameters compose by "Weeks Back," is it possible to have the indicator only plot the historical data? Specifically, meaning can I have it only plot the data for last week so I can see the Value Area of the prior week without any impact from the current week's price action.

There is a vendor on the ecosystem that offers this functionality, but I wondered if this functionality was included in the lifetime subscription Order Flow Volume Profile indicator?

    Hello dwbstreet,

    Thank you for reaching out.

If you want your indictator to only plot a certain time frame of data, you can change the days to load on your chart as well as the end data of your chart so it only loads that specific amount of data.

If I want my chart to only show last weeks data and no current data, I would right click the Chart and go to Data Series and change the End Data to a date last week. Then I would change the days to load to only a Weeks worth. This is a crude example, but I used Friday Sep20 as my last weeks end date and choose 7 days to load because theres 7 days in week (you can choose whatever last weeks end date and as many days you want to include in your weeks worth of data)

As you can see my Chart and OFVP are only plotting the available trading data between my selected data range:

    I would not be sure if there is an Ecosystem indicator that can better accomplish what you are looking for, however, I would suggest searching the user ecosystem for custom NinjaScripts that may accomplish the same goal or closely resemble what you have mentioned;

    Please try searching here:

I will also leave this thread open for any user who have any input on this matter.

Please let us know if we may be of further assistance.

      Thank you Erick,

You have provided a solution; however, I was not specific enough.

I need to be able to use the composite profile so that it appears on the right margin, not overlaid on the candles...similar to this user's question:

      Is this possible?

        Hello dwbstreet,

        Thank you for reaching out.

Do you currently have access to the Order Flow Volume profile?

You can set it up the Profile Alignment to the Right and also increase your Right side margin if you want further space between the bars and profile:

          Hi Erick,

          Yes, I do have access.
When I do what you described above, I am brought back to the primary question: How do I prevent it from showing data for the current week (the parameters for end date are no longer options)? I only want to see the profile for last week (on the right margin, not overlaid).

            Hello,

They Days to load and end date are in the Data Series.

I still have those options after following my instructions:

Please send me a screenshot of your Chart Data Series if you can no longer edit these options.

Thank you so much. I think I understand. So I need to have 2 data series on the chart. One for the Volume Profile, and one for current price... Is that correct?

I was just trying to avoid the extra data series as I thought it was more demanding on the cpu.

                Chelsea,

If you happen to see this, I always defer to your experience and would greatly appreciate your input...

                Just want to clarify.
Is the only way to limit the data set of a 'Composite, Days Back' Order Flow Volume Profile through the use of additional Data Series?
If so, it is much more resource intensive, which is ok.

BUT it is also much more tedious, as it would require updating the end date of the Data Series on a daily basis, which could easily lead to user error by omission/oversight.

As I mentioned in the initial inquiry, the htech vendor's version (https://www.htech.net/product/volume...composite-nt8/) has a simple toggle button inside the indicator which limits the 'data series' to only '1 day back, 1 week back, etc.' So, you can choose whether to include 1 day back plus the developing current day or minus the developing current day...
It does not require any additional Data Series to be added to the chart.

He explains it in detail here in about 30 seconds (timestamped) https://youtu.be/wKkRpHjqGx0?si=gHF9yOw3wT9iwVyy&t=747

If everything above is true, hopefully there is a workaround or please create a new tracking ticket for a feature request. I will certainly support a licensed vendor, but I want to make sure it's not an integrated feature before spending a couple hundred dollars.

                atb,

And thank you Erick, I followed up on all the information you provided and would appreciate your response to this as well.

                  Hello dwbstreet,

                  Thank you for your message.

None of the steps provided on this previously involve a second data series.

You can control what data plots on your chart by Right Clicking -> Data Series -> Days to Load & End Date

The whatever indicator you apply to the Chart will only use that data to plot, this includes the Order Flow Volume profile.

I understand that it would be nice to have things work as you envision without having to change too many settings.

If you would rather not change the end date of the Chart, and would rather have a "toggle" or new feature:

Please use the link below to submit this request to our product team for consideration to implement in future releases:

                  NinjaTrader Feature Request Form

You can use this link for future feedback or features you'd like to see as well.

Thank you again for your feedback on this item!
