How to make the sim account behave a real account

Hello Support Team, I created a SIM account of amount 5000$ and i started trading. It is allowing me to trade 50 NQ contracts as well.(infact, 270 contracts as well)
However, in my real account, if i go beyond 5 NQ contracts, it wouldn't allow i believe because day trading margin for each NQ contract is 1000$.

Also, when imbalance goes below 0$( i.e; negative 5000 from the total balance of 5000), it is still keeping the trade open and allowing me to go to negative 58,365.00(see below screenshot).

How can i make my SIM account behave like a real account (keeping the margin rules, contract rules, loss rules,...)except that the money is fake?

    Helo psangram,

Thank you very much for reaching out.

For this, you would need to add RIsk and Commission templates to your Sim account to mirror Live account limits.

"RIsk" settings are what trigger Margin limit errors.

To add Commission and Risk Templates to your Accounts, you may follow the steps below:
    • Go to the Control Center > Accounts window
    • Right-click on your Account > select 'Edit Account'
    • Select your template from the Commission or Risk drop-down menus
    • Click 'OK' to save and apply, and then restart your platform for the changes to take effect
Please note that Risk Templates cannot be applied to live trading accounts as risk is managed by the broker. Commissions will not be applied retroactively to past orders, however, any new orders you place will have Commissions applied once a template is selected.

If you do not see a Commission or Risk template that fits your needs, you may create a Custom Template from the Control Center > Tools > Commissions / Risk windows.

Additional information on both of these windows may be read here in our NinjaTrader Help Guide: Commissions and Risk Overviews.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

The reason you're able to trade so many contracts in your SIM account is because it doesn't have the same margin requirements as your real account. Tech Filipinos In your real account, each NQ contract requires a day trading margin of $1,000, which is why you’re limited to 5 contracts.

To trade more contracts in your real account, you'll need to have more available margin.

Let me know if you have any other questions or need help with anything else!
