Strategy Won't Enable (Data)

Hi,

I downloading Ninja Trader. I was using the simulation and playback accounts to utilize strategy builder. All of the strategies I created and the sample strategies were working until I paid for data. None of the strategies including the samples will enable unless I am in a live account. Why?

If you go to the Control Center > Connections menu and there are only 2 or 3 options as follows, then this means Multi-provider mode is disabled.

• Simulation
• Live
• Playback

If that is the case, when you click and connect to Live, only the Live account will be connected and show.

You could also click on the "Simulation" connection in addition to the Live one so that the Demo account is also showing.

Or, if you switch back to the Playback connection, the Playback 101 account should show.


If you want to have access to the Sim101 account and the ability to make additional local simulation accounts, you would need to enable Multi-provider mode and then manually configure your connection again.

  • Restart NinjaTrader after enabling for the changes to fully take effect
• Once Multi-provider Mode is enabled:
  • How to connect to the "NinjaTrader" connection type with your NinjaTrader Brokerage Account
    • You can set one "Account type" to Live and then you could make a 2nd connection with Account Type "Simulation" and connect to both to see the Demo and Live accounts at the same time.
  • Connecting To Evaluation Services via Tradovate Connection
• Then, connect to one of the accounts and you will see the account along with the Sim101 account
