    Link to TopStep Combine not working

    I began a Combine on Topstep and followed all steps to set up account and link to my NinjaTrader account. I have a green dot on the account associated with TopStep and when the day was done, I confirmed profit on NinjaTrader account page. The account is linked via Rithmic Trader. In order for this to work, I'm instructed to log into Rithmic Trader Pro and then log into my NinjaTrader account. I did that. However when I minimized my NinjaTrader account window, I noticed a message from RTPro that said "You have been logged out because another program has logged in with your credentials and would cause your session count to exceed its maximum". Not sure what that is telling me. On top of all that, when the day was done yesterday, nothing showed up on myTopStep dashboard. There is no profit identified on my Combine account. Has anyone experienced the same and does anyone have any advice on how to handle this?

    Thank you for posting on the NinjaTrader forums.

    Were you perhaps trading on a DEMOXXXXX account and not the Topstep account?


    Rithmic based evaluation accounts are not going to display on the NinjaTrader dashboard.


    Please advise.

      I don't believe I was on a Demo account. Is there a place I can confirm this for you and myself?

        Hello Want2Retire!,


        In the same place you saw the 'profits' in the account dashboard, it should have a name on the header of the account. It still stands that Rithmic based accounts are not going to show up in the NinjaTrader account dashboard as this is only meant for DEMO accounts or personal live accounts.

            You need to either disable the market data section in the Rithmic Trader Pro login, or you need to enable the plug in mode.

              backtester831. Thank you for that suggestion. The installation instructions from TopStep required the Market Data to be toggled to "on" and they also required the "Allow Plug ins" to be "on" as well. Have you provided this suggestion to previous members and confirmed this worked for some of them? Just curious. Thank you again.

                You probably accidentally didn't turn on plug in mode, which is why you were getting logged out of Rithmic when connecting to Topstep. Plug in mode needs to be on in the Rithmic login, and in the Ninja connections. I'm a long time TopStep trader

                  So I'm under the impression that I need to log into RTPro first with the "orders" on, the "market data" on, and the "allow Plug-ins: on. all of that is the way it was told to me from TopStep. I've confirmed they are in those conditions at sign in. Based on your last input I did NOT have the "plug-ins" checked in NinjaTrader under my TopStepTrader connection. I've updated that now. Since then I've logged out of both apps and logged back in. When I did this, I did not receive the message from RTPRO "You have been logged out because another program has logged in with your credentials and would cause your session count to exceed its maximum". I was receiving that previously each time I logged into NT. Guessing that may have made the difference. I'll update again tomorrow after the TopStep dashboard updates today's trades to see if they show up. Thank you for your suggestions!

                    so just went to TopStep and checked my dashboard. Still no results listed from today's trades. I'll try again tomorrow and confirm I'm "plug in" correct before I begin trading. Do I need to be logged into RTPro the entire day until the update is completed by TopStep? Do I need to be logged into NT all day as well? Just searching for other potential solutions.

                      Import license key, then select the topstep account in chart trader

                        I will try that tomorrow, but according to NT installation guide, since I'm using version 8.1 I'm not supposed to need to import the license key. I'll let you know if it works. Thanks again.

                          Rithmic accounts won't show up unless the key is imported, that's how it works

                            Update, went to my NT account page and tried to import the license key provided in the installation instructions. That gave me an error saying I could not import. I decided to start from scratch and add a completely new account. When I did that the system then accepted the license key and took me straight to a "new" connection that now showed in the column labeled "display name" the account name I recognized with my TopStep account name. I think this might have worked. Again, I'll post a follow up tomorrow one way or another. Thank you again for all your help.

                              Got some more advice yesterday and I'm trying one more thing today. Won't know until the update at the end of the day, but I really think this might be the solution.
