error log "ninja unable to create instance of ninjascript"
Hello. I am trying to load some pre-built indicators, but I am getting the following error. As far as I understand, it's a script error, so I followed the instructions to resolve errors in the NinjaScript section, but the indicators in question do not appear in the indicators folder, as if they are not being loaded at all. Are you running to this error when attempting to script/create your own custom indicators?
I recommend a repair to your NinjaTrader 8 platform to try fixing this error. To complete a repair, do the following:- Shut down NinjaTrader 8
- Go to your computer's Control Panel > Programs & Features (Note: search for 'Control Panel' to find it within the Windows Start Menu. This will be a different window than the Settings page)
- Left-click once on NinjaTrader 8 > select 'Repair' above the list of available programs
- Restart the platform after it finishes repairing, and test for this behavior again.

Hi Erick, thank you for your reply. I've tried as you suggested but haven't been able to resolve the issue. Additionally, I've already tried reinstalling NinjaTrader, but nothing change. The indicators in question were not developed by me but by a third party that has been offering this bundle for over 10 years (I won't name them to avoid bad publicity). So the problem must be on my PC. I can't understand what could be causing it. How is it possible that part of the code could be compromised during installation or file transfer?Last edited by XanderT; 08-20-2024, 08:16 AM.

I got pretty much the same error message when trying to install a 7d-free trial of the footprint software from this assumed third party you mentioned above, downloaded from their website as a registered user.
I considered to purchase this product and therefore wanted to test some of my trading concepts before. But I experienced a truckload of errors in the ControlCenterLog, also freezing, crashing. Furthermore the rest of my indicators that are really not related with this manufacturer ( too bad, I forgot the name temporarily, but I think it had to do something with the bad guy in the bible, but anyway....) in any visible way just stopped working.
These are the steps I did to restore my system:
1. Shut down NT 8, kill all files related to the manufacturer you extracted via importing the ZIP-file into C:\Users\<username>\Documents\NinjaTrader 8\bin\Custom
2. Kill the reference related to newly imported manufacturer files by navigating ControlCenter > NinjaScriptEditor > RightClick blank canvas > References
3. Shut down NT 8. Go to WIN 10 Start > Control panel > Apps & Features > NT 8 > Repair
4. Restart WIN 10, restart NT 8
Having passed these steps, NT 8 was able to load my complete workspace without any errors and all of my indicators worked again.

Thank you for your guidance. I had already tried this solution, Dr. Bellows, but the indicators were not appearing in the app-functions folder. After discussing the issue further with the manufacturer, I learned that they had recently modified the code to no longer support previous versions of NT8. Therefore, the problem was on my end. I had to update to the latest version (which caused some issues with other indicators I had. It was my decision to proceed with the update)

XanderT, very interesting. I got 2 questions:
1. How could you know about the code modification without getting the error message, in other words, has there been any notification/ hint on their website or anywhere else (not speaking of discord) that could be considered as clearly recognizable statement of change for an average costumer?
2.Do you happen to know what "previous" really means, the complete 8.0.xx version chain or even anything older than 8.1.3?I learned that they had recently modified the code to no longer support previous versions of NT8

I was still using version 0.28.0, as I hadn't had the need to update until now. Of course, I knew that eventually I would have to update. How did I find out about the code change? I described the problem to them, and they told me I needed to update. That's all there is to it. So, if you encounter a similar issue, I suggest you contact the developers directly. If they can't resolve the problem, then I would start questioning things

anyone if your having this issue still after removing the reference in ninjascript try going to the Documents/Ninjatrader 8 folder doing a search for the indicator causing the issue and removing any .dat or .dll that comes up this fix the issue i was having
