Not able to export strategy, question on backup

This has been reported before about the bug with exporting strategies: "Assembly could not be exported, please ensure all required... " blah blah blah.

I'm using one Ninza 3rd party component and have selected ALL referenced DLLs. There are no other selections to make under the other listed categories. I've tried the export as compiled assembly option, etc. with the same error.

IMO, this is a serious glitch that needs to be fixed.

As a workaround...

Question: In light of the fact that this glitch has been around for some time, will doing a back to the NT8 backup format do the job of preserving my work? It would be awful to have to rebuild the strategy from scratch if something happened.

Thank you for your post on the NinjaTrader forums.


Depending on the other scripts you are using within your custom script you may need to add those files to the export when exporting your script.

If you are referencing a third-party addon in your script, you would need to include that third-party addon in the export window to export the script successfully.
If the indicator is available in source code, you could add the indicator to your export.



If the indicator is a dll, you could add a Reference to the dll in your export.

You could check the error message in the Log tab of the Control Center for any additional hints as to what might need to be added to the export.

Hi Luis,

As I explained in my original ticket, I've included all the references available and it does not work. I have one strat to export and a list of .NET System DLLs plus ninza component. ALL were selected under the references. NOTHING has been added as far as custom code, etc. I only use the strategy builder to edit.

This is a very serious issue if I am unable to backup my work. I've invested a huge amount of time into building this stuff and I need a way to share, back up and restore strategies.
