    NT reload chart problem

    Hello,

How can it be possible a platform like Ninjatrader takes 5 minutes everytime we change an indicator to reload the chart with the new parameter?

Its so annoying, cant be this fixed?

It doesnt matter if you have a computer from NASA, its related to NT coding. Please re-check the logic of changing parameter in one indicator. Maybe add an option to block reload chart and all indicators every time we change a parameter INSIDE 1 indicator please.

    Thanks

    Hello DoomNM,

    Thank you for the message.

If it takes 5 minutes to reload the chart, that implies that its settings and indicators are very complex and take a long time to calculate.
    • The more Days to load and indicators you put on a chart, the longer it will take to calculate and load.
    • Unfortunately, there is no way to turn off or disable the reloading at this time.

    You could try to:
    • Reduce the number of "Days to load" you have on the chart.
    • Remove unneeded Drawing Objects and Indicators from the chart and test if it reloads faster.

If you would like to compare performance of a default chart to the one you have created, please perform the following test:
    • Go to the Control Center > New > Chart
    • Select the ES 09-24
    • Make it a 1-minute chart
    • Set the 'Days to load' to 5
    • Make sure 'Template' in the top-right corner is set to < None >
    • Set the Time frame > Trading hours > To "Default 24x7"
    • Click OK to make the chart
      • Add a default NinjaTrader indicator like the EMA to the chart
      • Now, go back to the indicators menu > Make a change to the settings > Click OK and test how long it takes to reload the chart.

Now, you have a base comparison for how fast it works on a basic chart without everything else.

From here, you can either keep adding things to the test chart 1-by-1 and testing how long it take to reload until it takes forever and you will know that the last thing you added is causing it to take longer to load and then you can specifically ask about that one indicator or setting for more tips and suggestions on how to change it to be less impactful.
    • Or, go back to the original chart and start removing things 1-by-1 until it is able to reload faster letting you know the last thing removed was causing the delay and you can then investigate it further.

Please let us know if we may provide any further assistance.
