setting ninjatrader up for footprint practice?

I would like to set up ninjatrader to practice with a orderflow footprint chart to practice.
However it is such a forest of feeds and subscriptions that i got totally lost..

Initially i thought that ninjatrader was for free to use, but you cant put trades on it. Is this assumption wrong or right?

If its right, how can i get a footprint chart up?

I tried to add ninjatrader continuum feed, but logging in there did not work.
I am missing the simulation feed, ( on the website i saw that my simulation feed expried ? ) is this not for free then ?
I tried to connect to kinetick, but the charts came up empty, except for if i choose daily candles..
I tried downloading historical data, it downloaded and gave me a candlestick chart, but when i press play nothing happened.
Also i cant find where to select footprint chart, i only see the option of candlestick chart.
Maybe someone here can help me, setting up a chart. If its delayed i dont mind, and if its a downloaded set of that day or previous day i also dont mind.

I just want to get familiar with footprint charts, based on actual data, with the option of playing it back or watching it delayed.
I think in the order that i need to know things is:
1. what data feed do i need?
2. how to log in on this data feed?
3. how to get a chart up from it?
4. how do i turn it into footprint chart?
5. how do i play it back?

nogamble you need to pay for Footprint charts, you can use your brokers price feed or NT price feed if you use them as a broker. see

Within NinjaTrader, the Volumetric Bar type would provide a Footprint chart and table if desired.





The Volumetric Bar type is one of the features included within the Order Flow + feature package that is included with the NinjaTrader Lifetime Plan.

If you have the Lifetime Account plan or have separately purchased Order Flow+ for your platform user, you would be able to create a Chart using the Volumetric Bar type:

• Go to the Control Center > New > Chart
• Under Data Series > Type > Select Volumetric > Configure as desired > Click OK
