API from interactive brokers data now breaks....

Hi all, I've been using NT for years without any problem like what i am about to describe, but in the last couple of weeks a problem has occured with the NT connection to IB. When i open NT it connects to IB just fine, data is streaming, charts are updating etc. But when i now place an order on IB its terminating the connection to IB.

As mentioned, its never done this before. I haven't changed or altered any settings on either platform. Does anyone have any clues? Thanks in advance,

Thank you for reaching out.

This was reported to be caused by a TWS auto-update. Since you are now using a newer/ "unsupported" version of TWS for NT8, the connection is not experiencing issues.

To resolve this, please uninstall your IB software, then install the supported version from the guide below.

When using an Interactive Brokers account to connect to NinjaTrader, you must use the version of Trader Workstation or IB Gateway that is specified within the NinjaTrader — Interactive Brokers Connection Guide seen below:

  • TWS 10.23.2a - Download
  • IB Gateway 10.23.2a - Download
    • Please refer to the Connection Guide above for the Configuration settings of each
    • If you have another version of TWS or IB Gateway on the computer, I suggest uninstalling it first to remove confusion moving forward

Once you have the version of Trader Workstation or IB Gateway as specified above, connect to your account within TWS or IB Gateway.

• After you are connected in TWS or IB Gateway, you are then able to connect to the account within NinjaTrader.

From here connect to your account and test if the charts are updating.

If they are updating correctly, the next test would be to submit a trade to confirm the connection does not break.
