Bar prices do not match across charts

Hello, I would like to know why bar prices do not match across charts of different time series, it seems there is something wrong with either the way bars are being drawed, data is being split into the time series or I have just completely missunderstood to what time the bar is supposed to be referring... I'm thinking the time associated with the bar is the opening time of the bar.

I've attached a photo where you can see the low of the bar in a 2 minute chart is never reached in the appropriate timespan of the 30 seconds chart, which to my understanding this makes one or both of them wrong.

    Hello vicguedez ,

    Thank you for your post.

Here are images I have taken from my platform for MNQ SEP24 on 05/08/2024, at 12:42PM:

We should see the same Close price for any bar on any MNQ time interval Chart at 12:42PM on this date.

Each bar spans the time interval selected.

From 12:40pm to 12:42pm, we would see 1 bar on a 2 minute Chart

    From 12:40pm - 12:42pm, we would see 4 bars on a 30 second chart

NinjaTrader 8 time stamps at the close of the bar, rather than the start.

While forming, bars will be stamped as the next current minute/time interval.

You may read a full overview of how charts are built in real-time here in our NinjaTrader 8 Help Guide - Charting > How Bars Are Built

If your bars are not lining up:

Generally, when we see the behavior you describe, it is because the user's PC clock is out of sync.

You may use the steps below to sync your PC's internal clock that NinjaTrader's Charts use for its timestamps.
    • Shutdown NinjaTrader
    • Right-click on the clock in the lower-right corner of your desktop
    • Select "Adjust date and time"
For Windows 10, select 'Date, Time, and regional formatting' > 'Additional date, time, and regional settings' > 'Set the time and date'
    • Select the 'Internet Time' tab at the top
    • Set the server to time.nist.gov and click "Update".
    • If the message that appears says successful your PC clock should now be updated.
    • If not, select a different server from the Server: drop-down and try again (repeat until one of the servers is successful)
For Windows 11, select Sync Now under Additional Settings. We would also recommend enabling your computer to set the time and the time zone automatically if they are not already enabled.

After updating the PC clock, reopen NinjaTrader, then right-click in the Chart and select "Reload All Historical Data".

Please let us know if we may be of further assistance.
