Btcusd - trading - coinbase - strategy

Hello,

I know we can't trade cryptocurrency currently on NINJATRADER.

However, i have a strategy i would like to test on BTCUSD using the coinbase provider for the BTCUSD database. I see the data populating on my charts,
however, it won't let me load any strategies.. I want to basically get a signal based on my strategy and then go manually into coinbase and trade.


but the fact that i can't even load the strategy is annoying , can anyone help? here is the error message i get:

Strategy: XXXXXX: Time-in-force 'DAY' not supported by account SimDemo1: Strategy was not started.


I have an option in my strategy to not execute trades so it should load even though i disabled trading. I just want the signals.

How to get around this.

Thank you for your message.

At a glance, it seem the issue is either with the TIF setting within the strategy, or the actual "SimDemo1" account itself.

Have you been able to test if the strategy can be started on another simulation account?

Try adding a brand new Sim account and see if you can run the strategy on it.

If you get the same error, try changing the "TIF" setting within your strategy to "GTC" then try starting the strategy.




If you still get the same error or the strategy still will not work:

Is the automated strategy you are working with, a strategy coded by yourself using the Strategy Builder, or was it acquired from a 3rd party?

If it is your own coded strategy, please contact our engineering team at

[email protected]

and they will be able to guide you further in this regard.

If it is a 3rd party strategy, you would want to contact the developer for assistance with their software.

Hi, thank you for the feedback .. i have updated to GTC in the strategy window and that resolved it. This was a custom script i wrote. Thanks again.
