Future spreads and associated margin requirement

Hi

I have a couple of questions on Future spreads and the associated margin requirements.

1. Is there a way that I can trade the standard CME spreads, say e.g., the e-mini S&P futures intra spreads directly via Ninja Trader? If so, how do I go about doing that?

2. If this is not possible to do so; say I create my own spread by initiating 2 trades, e.g. say, go long the Sept e-mini S&P contract and short the Dec e-mini S&P contract, would my margin requirement for these 2 trades be 2 x the margin required for the 1 e-mini S&P contract or the intra spread margins as detailed on the CME group website?
