I really don't get it anymore

Been using NT 8 forever , watched many videos on how to add the commission and still doesn't show up on trade performance.. In addition why the hell do the number of trades never match with the actual number of trades....I've neevr seen anything like it. I always have to look at my performance in Rhithmic to know the real number of trades because NT always has a different number. Can someone please help?

    Hello kidpoker007,

    Thank you for reaching out.

Please note that if your are using a Commission template on a NinjaTrader Brokerage account, the Trade Performance will not respect it, as it pulls the direct commissions from the broker, not the platform.

All other types of accounts, like Sim101 and Rithmic accounts, will respect the commission template you have applied when you generate a trade performance.

First I since you have followed the "Adding a Commission Template" videos and guide: Commissions , If your commission are still not updating when you generate a trade performance for your Rithmic account:

This is an issue I have seen before, typically when trading the Micro contracts, with an out of date commission template.

To resolve this, first go to Tools -> Database Management -> and click on Update Commission Templates (unless you have created your own custom template, please check both boxes and click Update.

Now, go back to your Account tab on the Control Center, and Right click on your Sim101 account -> edit account

Find the Commission settings and select the Template you want as shown in my image below:

Apply the template and click ok.

(Additionally, to make sure you have a visible Commission column in your account display, Go to the " Accounts " tab in your control center
    Right click -> select "Properties".
Make sure that under "Columns" you have "Total Commissions" checked. Apply/Ok.)

Now finally go back to your trading and submit an order with the Sim101 account.

You should now see your commissions updated real time with your trades.

Now, if your trades are not adding up on the trade performance, what you are doing by checking Rithmic instread is actually the correct thing to do.

Please note that the trade performance on NT8 Desktop is only meant as a supplemental report, and we recommend looking at account statements from your respective broker for an accurate report.

Ninja Trader generates reports from the last time you were flat.
Keep this in mind when generating a report.

Please note that the Trade Performance report has no bearing on actual trades that occurred and should always be considered secondary to your brokerage statement. NinjaTrader has no concept of 'trades', but simply pairs together executions. There are many reasons why a Trade Performance report can become out of sync. A few examples of this:
    • Partial fills
    • Missing executions
    • Duplicate executions
    • Holding overnight positions
    • Running a report from a start date on which you were not flat
    • Using another application or device to place an order may not record the execution within NinjaTrader, including another instance of NinjaTrader on another computer.
    • Database Issues

    For example:
    • Enter 1 June 4th
    • Exit 1 June 5th
    • Enter 1 June 5th
    • Exit 1 June 5th

In the fill flow above, if you generate a report from June 4 through June 6, you would see two trades reported (Entry June 4th and Exit June 5th) and (Entry June 5th and Exit June 5).

If you generate a report from June 5th through June 6th, you would only see one trade reported where the exit on June 5th is the trade entry and the entry on June 5th is the exit.

As you can see, the result would yield different results. NinjaTrader has no way of knowing if a fill is truly an entry or exit thus it has to build trade pairs starting with the first fill as entry in the date filtered dataset.

Below I have provided a link to a video with a brief overview of the Trade Performance window:

Do external Rithmic trades count in NinjaTrader towards the count of trades? For example if you were to use the flatten all on the Apex website, do those trades count in the number on NT?
