    Chart keeps breaking?

    This has been happening lately where I switch between instruments and the chart loads. For example, the chart loads with a gap from the current price to a price that occurred several (or more) bars in the past. Reload All HIstorical Data does nothing to help this, and I've deleted cache folder several times. It still keeps occurring. Any ideas?

    Thank you for reaching out.

    If you are seeing gaps in data:

    Please go to Tools-> Options -> Market Data-> under Global Merge Policy, select "Merge adjusted/Merge back adjusted".

    Apply the change, then go back to your chart, right click on your chart and select the option that says "Reload all historical data".

    If this does not work, additionally :

    Clear old historical and cache data by doing the following:

    - Shut down NinjaTrader 8

    - Go to the 'Documents/NinjaTrader 8/db' folder of your computer

    - Delete the files inside the 'cache', 'day', 'minute', and 'tick' folders.

    - Important: Do not remove any other files inside the NinjaTrader 8 Documents folder.

    -Restart your PC

    When you restart NinjaTrader 8, you may notice a slightly longer initial load time as all of your historical chart data is re-downloaded, but your overall performance should be better.

      I am having a similar problem. I have followed the above instructions and I still have gaps in prices. It also is affecting more than on symbol (all the futures indexes) and the gaps are all at the same time on the chart. On my one-minute chart is showing the price at 8:40am MT and then it printed another one-minute bar at 8:58am and then again is started showing pricing at 9:17am. Gaps obviously in between. How can I fix this?

        I am having the same issues FYI, with gaps at the same times on both NQ and ES. Tried deleting the db folders and restarting but that didn't help. I'm using Rithmic data FWIW. Maybe something with the historical data server? I've also had NT crash on me twice today - a rare event - at different times than when the gaps are showing. The crashes caused gaps but restarting fixed them, but these gaps remain.

          I just made a post without seeing this one first but I've got the exact same issue. Can you share what time your gap occurred? mine occurred at 10:40 to 10:58 UTC -4.

          I tried repairing DB, I deleted the historical data files, no luck.

          It isn't my data feed as I have access to two feeds.

          Percipi0 is that UTC -4?

            Same times for me (09:40 to 10:17am, with a single bar at 09:58, CST). It was working live at the time, but after I had to restart after an NT crash the gap appeared.

              Hi Ninjatrader,

              I'm also seeing gaps. I.e. missing bars. First time this has happened to me:
              -yesterday on ES Sep2024, around 17:00 CEST
              -just now on ES Sep2024, 17:50 CEST

              I followed the advice in the 2nd post ( Please go to Tools-> Options -> Market Data-> under Global Merge Policy, select "Merge adjusted/Merge back adjusted".) and it worked.
              But it's still a hassle doing this while trading.
              Could you check with your data provider?

                I am having the same issue again this morning once I logged in there is a gap on the price between 8:59am Mountain Time until the next bar starting again at 9:17am mountain time on all my charts. I changed the Global Merge Policy setting as suggested above and it worked to clear it up the gap. However, being required to do this all the time cannot be a solution going forward.

                Please let us know if there is a permanent solution or fix.
