How to resync position without a buy/sell order?

i've noticed that regularly my strategy because out of sync, where account position is flat but the strategy is not flat. The only way i know of is to restart the strategy, but it only works if i'm aware of the problem. Is there a solution that will let account position govern position, or should i just not trust position?

You can also select the 'Strategies' tab, right click within an empty area and select 'Synchronize Strategies'.

That's not very helpful for automation. I'm trying to manage it better at the code level to prevent this, but is there no way to synch from within the code?
