Simulation Data Diffent to Live Data Why

Why is the Simulation data feed that displays the tick charts different to the live data feed , putting aside the 10 minute delay..How can one test out a strategy to test his entry and exit points based on candle type and candle size if that data is inaccurate or does reflect the live data movement of the market at that time.If one is trading along side the live market in simulation mode and the charts produce tick candles that are different to the live market, for my entry exit point strategy, how can one feel confidence trading the live market when the simulation market does not produce the same information

    Hello Randy Hotcakes,

    Thank you for reaching out.

Please note that the "Simulated Data Feed" is generated by the platform and is data that is not real/live data.

The Simulated data feed is not a real time data provider, this connection generates fake data on your computer along with a slider to control the market. This is generally used for testing.

It also starts at a random point on the chart causing large candlestick to form the junction of any previous price is plotted on the chart before the new simulated data.

Instead, you should connect to the "Simulation" connection, as this would connect to your Demo account and the real-time data enabled in the Demo so that you can simulate trades with real-time data.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

*More notes about the DEMO/Simulation connection:

The demo accounts provide live data for 14 days.

After that, the data received becomes delayed.

Also, if you try to load a window with any instrument that is not included in the demo trial live data, like the FDAX, for example, it will also receive delayed data.

If you would like another 14-day demo with free data, you would have to try to sign up for one with another email.

Below is a link to our Help Center that explains how to request a 2-week demo of Futures data for NinjaTrader Web, Mobile and Desktop.

How can I get a free trial?

Please let us know if we may be of further assistance.
