Bid/Ask Histogram on NT Web DOM in NT8 Desktop DOM?

Hi. Hope everyone is having fun.

If anyone has any experience with this I would appreciate it!

I love NT Web with the histogram visual bid/ask (DOM on the right in the image below, with numbers and colored histograms). It is very easy to scan and read the whole DOM, and then see the numbers as necessary.

However, I can't seem to find a similar tool for NT8 Desktop (DOM on the left with numbers only). I cannot scan the numbers the same way I can the histograms.

I would just stick with web trader, however, I would like to prop trade with Apex Rithmic. (As far as I know - you cannot connect your account to just use NT Web. - else I would just do that).

    Here's some additional context:

    - I have level 2 market data (CME Rithmic from Apex)

    - I have Order Flow Plus from Ninja trader.

I've tried all of the Order Flow indicators on the DOM in NT8 and I cannot find one that is remotely as useful to me as the Bid/Ask Histogram from NT Web.

Does anyone know how to get something similar on NT8 desktop?

    Thanks.

Hi! I'm looking into the same problem. Did you ever figure out how to do this?

      Hello,

      Thank you for reaching out.

The SuperDOM in NinjaTrader Desktop does not natively offer a histogram-style visualization of Bid/Ask data like the Web platform, but you can achieve a similar experience using the following tools and configurations: Steps to Configure Similar Bid/Ask Visualization in NinjaTrader Desktop:
      1. SuperDOM Setup:
        • Open the SuperDOM by navigating to Control Center > New > SuperDOM.
        • Right-click in the SuperDOM window and select Properties.
        • Enable relevant columns such as Bid Volume and Ask Volume.
      2. Order Flow Market Depth Map (Order Flow+ feature required):
        • The Market Depth Map offers a heatmap visualization of market depth.
        • To add it:
          • Open a chart with the instrument you’re trading.
          • Right-click the chart and select Indicators.
          • Add Order Flow Market Depth Map to the chart.
          • Adjust properties such as transparency and gradient to suit your preferences.
      3. Order Flow Volumetric Bars (Optional):
        • If you prefer data aggregated over time intervals, use Volumetric Bars.
        • Add the Order Flow Volumetric indicator to your chart, accessible via Indicators.
        • Configure the Profile Type to Bid x Ask Volume for a more detailed visual of bid/ask imbalances.
      4. Histogram Visualization:
        • While the native histogram-style Bid/Ask visualization isn’t built-in, you can create a similar effect by adjusting the Column settings in the SuperDOM and the Order Flow Market Depth Map’s display options.
      5. Custom Indicators:
        • Consider using third-party or custom-developed indicators to achieve the exact histogram-like appearance from the web platform. You can import these into NinjaTrader Desktop via Tools > Import > NinjaScript Add-On.
I would suggest searching the user ecosystem for custom NinjaScripts that may accomplish the same goal:

      Please try searching here:

Trading Indicators | Automated Strategies | Trading Apps | NinjaTrader Ecosystem

Here is a basic guideline of how to import NinjaScript add-ons in NinjaTrader 8:
Note — To import NinjaScripts you will need the original .zip file.

      To Import:
      1. Download the NinjaScripts to your desktop, keep them in the compressed .zip file.
      2. From the Control Center window select the menu Tools > Import > NinjaScript Add-on...
      3. Select the downloaded .zip file
      4. NinjaTrader will then confirm if the import has been successful.

Critical - Specifically for some NinjaScripts, it will prompt that you are running newer versions of @SMA, @EMA, etc. and ask if you want to replace, press 'No'

Once installed, you may add the indicator to a chart by:
      • Right-click your chart > Indicators... > Select the Indicator from the 'Available' list on the left > Add > OK

Here is a short video demonstration of the import process:
