    How to log into NT7

I have been having very bad problems with NT8 just randomly crashing on me, and I decided to try out NT7.

However, I cannot figure out how to log into it. I just have an account with the NT brokerage and I have selected all of the options at log in and it is saying on every one that username and password is incorrect.

I have looked up the issue and I cannot find what I need. I thought it'd be the NT contiuum using the same credentials as I did in NT8.

What do I need to do?

    Thanks

    Hello mkil5 ,

    Thank you for reaching out.

When did you sign up with NinjaTrader?

Please note new clients are not able to use NT7 for live trading unless they previously purchased a LifeTime License key (before March 2023) and also have access to NinjaTrader Continuum account credentials.

If you do not know what I am referring to by License key or NinjaTrader Continuum, then most likely you are a newer client who should be using NT8.

In any case, to troubleshoot your NT8 crashing, as well as finding out if you have access to NinjaTrader Continuum through our brokerage:

Please send in your log and trace files so that we may look into what may be occurring.

You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support

Make sure to categorize your request at the top.

Ensure 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default.

If you could also provide a screenshot of what you are seeing, that would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance, we look forward to helping resolve this issue for you.

I have done that. I got an email back telling me to delete the cache day and tick folders, rename ninjatrader.sqlite. I have done all of that, done a complete reinstall of NT8, created a new workspace, and it is still unusable and crashing every 5-10 minutes.

My setup is pretty barebones. I have 3 charts up each for ES and NQ. ES is 2000 tick (3 day load), 8000 tick (20 day) and 240 minutes (100 days). NQ is the same except the 2000 is 1500 there.

I am using no indicators at all other than the ticks remaining on my tick charts. The only other window i have open is the control center and I will probably wind up with trade performance and time and sales being consistently up.

I am not sure what else I can remove. I deleted the cache minute and tick folders twice and it didnt do anything. Are there any recommendations for days allowed on these?

My pc is an i5 12400f, 16gb ram and gtx1080 gpu. I'd imagine that should easily handle NT8 as it works just fine when it works, no slowdown at all, just crashes.

        Hello mkil5 ,

        Thank you for your message.

Do you happen to have the case number for when you emailed in about the crashing?

Also, if you experience frequent crashing events on NT8, I would always advise you start with a Safe Mode Test to see if the issue can be isolated within the Workspace.

Try testing your platform in Safe Mode to verify if this behavior is being caused by a 3rd-party add-on using the steps below.

Safe Mode will prevent NinjaTrader from:
        • Loading workspaces and connecting on start-up.
        • Loading custom assemblies (i.e. 3rd-party add-ons and NinjaScripts)
        • Getting instrument updates from the server

To enable Safe Mode, you can also use the following steps:
        • Shut down NinjaTrader.
        • Click on the Windows Start Button
        • Search for and Launch NinjaTrader (Safe Mode)
        • You may then verify you are in Safe Mode by going to Help -> About.

Once you have opened the platform in Safe Mode:
        • Reconnect to your Data Provider
        • Please open a new chart with no custom bar types/indicators/templates and test for issues.

Does the same crashing behavior persist when using blank Workspace in Safe Mode?
        • If not, please try opening your previous workspace by going to the Control Center > Workspaces drop-down. It may already show as being open. Hit 'close' and do not save and then re-open it again for your windows to re-appear. You will notice that no 3rd-party add-ons are running in Safe Mode.

Does the behavior return on your regular Workspace in Safe Mode?
        • If not, restart NinjaTrader, and test for the behavior on your Workspace normally once more with your 3rd-party add-ons available. If this reintroduces issues, I suggest rebuilding your workspace, adding 1 add-on at a time.
        • Please keep track of what add-ons you add back in to identify the cause of the behavior if it returns.

If it does not return, it indicates the error was isolated only to your other Workspace. I also suggest making a backup of your workspace so we can restore a working version of it if the issue returns. You will want to keep this backup file on an external hard drive or uploaded to a cloud drive such as Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive.

To create a backup, go to the Control Center > Tools > Export > Backup File. Additional information about backups may be read in our Help Guide linked below.

Please let me know the results of this test. I look forward to your response.
