    Not Connecting to Interactive Broker

    I'm trying to add a connection to my Interactive Broker account. I follwed all the steps outlined but somethings wrong. Can you help?

    Thank you for the message.

    We would still need a little further information.

    What is the full version of IB Gateway you are using?
    • Help > About IB Gateway
    What is the full version of NinjaTrader you are using?
    • Control Center > Help > About

    Could you also take a screenshot of the connection settings you have within NinjaTrader as well?
    • Control Center > Connections > configure > Click the 'Configured' Interactive Brokers connection > Stretch the window to show all the settings if they fit on screen > Take a screenshot and include that.
      • The Username and Password don't have to be entered within NinjaTrader unless you are using the auto-login feature. So, you can remove those from the blanks before taking your screenshots. Or, use something to blur the credentials out.

    Otherwise, if we need to share data that is sensitive, you can always write to our support team directly at Support[AT]NinjaTrader[DOT]com

    Or, use the following steps to send your log and trace files to the support team directly from your NinjaTrader Platform so we may investigate this behavior further:
    • Within NinjaTrader, go to the Control Center > Help > Email Support...
    • To: Set this to "Platform Technical Support"
    • Subject: Copy and paste the Forum URL
    • Attach: Attach a file, picture, or compressed file to share multiple files/pictures
    • Body: Include any other information you would like to share on the situation
    • Make sure 'Log and Trace files' is checked to include the requested files
      • Send the email

        Hello Taddypole,

        Thank you for the update.

        When using an Interactive Brokers account to connect to NinjaTrader, you must use the version of Trader Workstation or IB Gateway that is specified within the NinjaTrader — Interactive Brokers Connection Guide seen below:
        From here, the reason the connection isn't working is because of the "Port Number". That needs to be the same number in both platforms.
        • So, set both platforms to 4001 or 4002. Choose one and go with it. I don't think one is better than the other.
        • Once both platforms are using the same port, they should connect.
