    Random orders being opened

Alright, I am trading across multiple accounts using a trade copier. When I am done trading for the day/night, I close all of my position and orders. I double check this. I don't disconnect from Ninja. I just leave my computer on. When it goes to sleep, obviously the ninja trader connection disconnects. No problem. However, whenever I wake the computer up and ninja reconnects, it instantly opens random positions using size that I never trade with. For example, this morning it opened 13 CL contracts on one account, 7 on another, 9 on another, etc. I have literally NEVER in my trading career put in an order for 13 CL contracts. This is not the first time this has happened. Please advise.

    P. S. - please don't come back asking me to provide more information like you usually do. I just typed a novel.

    Hello bmartz,

Critical - If your inquiry involves live or evaluation orders, please always reach out to your broker's/account providers Orders Desk immediately to confirm and manage your live orders and positions.
If your trade(s) are with NinjaTrader Brokerage, you can contact NinjaTrader Brokerage Order Desk by emailing [email protected].

*Please note that if you are using any 3rd party trading software such as a trade copier or automated strategy, we would not be able to troubleshoot order issues as they would be better reviewed by the developers of the software.)

If you want us to review any order issues, please answer all of the following:
    • What Order ID was assigned to this order? You can check in the Executions or Orders tab of the Control Center.
    • Do you receive an error on screen? Are there errors on the Log tab of the Control Center? If so, what do these errors report?

Since you are reporting live order issues, we need to see these files before proceeding to assist.

Please send in your log and trace files so that we may look into what may be occurring.

You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support

Ensuring 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default.

If you could also provide a screenshot of what you are seeing, that would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance, we look forward to helping resolve this issue for you.

      Some thoughts:

      1. I suspect your trade copier screwed you, or at
least made your screwy situation that much worse.
Have you been able to prove/disprove this?

      2. When you close all your positions and cancel
all your orders at the end of the day, make sure
you also stop/kill your trade copier. Only after
you start trading the next day should you then
      re-activate your trade copier.

      3. Do not allow your trading computer to go to
sleep with NinjaTrader running -- just setup
your screen saver or simply turn the monitors
off. If you really want to let your computer
sleep, you should perform the additional steps
to completely exit NT as part of your end of
      trading day routine.

      -=o=-

      Trading desktop/laptop computers should
never sleep while their trading software
      is running
      -- too many uncertainties, too
many reports of crazy, stupid, unexplainable
      things happening.

This is a well known limitation.

It's been this way for years.

      Just my 2˘.
