    Rhithmic logs me out occasionally

    Hi

    I am a new user, running NT 8.1.2.1 64-bit via TopStep, currently on their sim account.
    Connecting with R-Trader Pro 17.38.0.2, NET version 4.0.30319.4200.
    It's all running on a VPS with a Windows Server 2022 Datacenter. It's a very clean setup, not used for anything else.

    Every once in a while – I think this has happened three times so far – RTPro would simply kick me out! And it happens quietly in the background so I wouldn't even know about it. I have now turned on a sound alert in its preferences hoping I would at least get notified. The message that it displays reads "Session expired because an account is unassigned by the administrator." The previous time I thought it may have happened because I had quit Microsoft Remote Desktop on my Mac and left it all running on the server. But just now it happened while I was at the computer, not sure if I was possibly inactive for a few minutes. Can't really find a specific action or scenario that may have triggered it.

    I have just started moving away from MT5 and forex and this is extremely unnerving. Can you help, please?

    Hello sylviannyc,

    Thank you very much for your post and welcome to the NinjaTrader forums!

    As this error is specific to the provider, my suggestion would be to reach out to Topstep, as they should have records of why these disconnects happen.

    Messages referring to the 'administrator', when Rithmic-related, usually refer either to the risk management or order desk-related events.

    As such this could be caused e.g. by not being allowed to be connected for longer than x hours/days. Topstep would have further information on whether any restrictions apply.
