Couple of questions as a new user

Hi,

I have 2 questions:

1, after I loaded a chart, if I hit a key on my keyboard accidentally, a window would pop up, asked me to input a symbol of a stock, is it possible to disable this feature?

2, I am trying to learn to write indicators with NinjaScript, are those indicators I wrote saved locally or on NinjaTrader's server? if they are saved locally, what is the best way to back them up, just in case that my computer would crash. I couldn't find a place to save them as text files for me to back up.

Thanks for your post.

1. It seems you are referring to the Instrument Overlay window when pressing a key while the chart is the active window.

In the Instrument Overlay you can change the instrument, interval, or chart type by using the formats in the table below and pressing the "Enter" key when finished.

There are no options available for disabling this feature in the chart.

2. NinjaScript are held locally on your machine. NinjaScript indicators are specifically held in the Documents\NinjaTrader 8\bin\Cusom\Indicators folder.

You could export a backup file with your NinjaScript files included in the backup by going to Tools > Export > Backup file and ensuring the 'NinjaScript files' option is checked. That backup file could then be imported whenever you need to by going to Tools > Import > Backup file.
