Ghost orders

    Ghost orders

    I have seen many posts about this Ghost orders issues but no particular solution.
    I have Ninja connected to Rithmic. If I triggered orders directly in Rithmic it keeps creating Ghost orders in Ninja. These ghost orders are not showing on Rithmic only on Ninja. If I try to close them manually Rithmic gives an error incapable of closing those orders.
    After closing the order directly in Ninja it leaves a yellow ghost orders pending to cancel on the the platform.
    Because I put orders on a Rithmic dom this error of ghost orders in Ninja happens constanly.
    You need a second login in rithmic to replicate this (as you need to put orders externally to Ninja).
    So it looks like there is an issue synchronizing external orders between Ninja and Rithmic.

    Typically orange cancel pending are on local sim accounts, and resetting the sim account or deleting the NinjaTrader.sqlite file is the solution.

    Are the orange cancel pending order in NinjaTrader on the same Rithmic account that they were placed in R Trader, or are they on a NT sim account through copy trading?

      backtester831Has a good couple of ideas here, I'd also like you to verify that you are using the latest release of NinjaTrader (8.1.2.1) as this resolved a behavior that would prevent users from cancelling an existing order on their chart.

        This is not a sim account, this is a rithmic account. I know that disconnecting and reconnecting the orders will disappear because they only live in Ninja (they don't show in Rithmic). I don't care about the "yellow" orders , I do care about the orders that look legit that are ghost orders (these orders only live in Ninja and when I cancel them manually rithmic and ninja complains giving an error). I am using the the lastest version 8.1.2.1 and this issue has been happening for a long time. It is very easy to replicate, setup a couple of evals on Apex for example and signed for a second login so you can put orders in the dom and have NT connected at the same time.
        After a while trading my chart look with ghost orders everywhere and is difficult to know which ones are real and which ones are not. There is some synchronization problem when Ninja is reading the external orders from Rithmic.

          Is it only happening when using the 2nd Rithmic login? I place trades in Rithmic Trader Pro all the time on my Apex accounts and have never had the issue you're talking about in NinjaTrader, but I only use a single login. Try to open Rithmic Trader Pro and disable the market data section of the login. This will let you log in using the same login in both R Trader Pro and NinjaTrader at the same time. With the Market Data section off in R Trader Pro, you can also still place live orders. Give it a try and see if it happens for you when using a single account.

            Not a valid option for me to disable the data , I need the data. and yes this happens using 2 logins ...
            see attached image of these happening right now where you can see the executed orders external and how it left behind what it looks like a real order of buy 5 c which is a ghost order. After a while my chart will look full of these orders.

              According to Apex's instructions, your market data has to be turned off from the Rithmic Trader Pro splash page:

              I don't see an additional option to configure in order to use two logins, as expected. This might not be an option as far as I can see on their website.

              backtester831's setup with one user is correct according to their instructions.

                In the apex website menu click on Rithmic addons ... then you can pay for a second login with data. see attached ss.
                This is useful for example when people are using a second platform like bookmap to do a second login with Data.

                  I don't want to ill advise you - this looks to be something you'll want to get in contact with ATF's support team about. It might be a limitation of R Trader Pro that would be worth exploring with their dedicated team.

                      If you want I can use my broker Optimus to show you the same problem .. would that be helpful? as rithmic offers second login with data If you request it and pay to the broker. This has nothing to do with ATF. There is a synchronization problem in Ninja when reading the external orders from Rithmic, and these orders do not show in rithmic as I explained they only exits in Ninja.

                        I do not want to ill advise you as it is not clear how this second log in is expected to work or what its limitations are if any. If you are able to replicate this with other brokerage accounts - it is worth contacting the respective party to verify what the configuration should look like.

                          Hi Luis,
                          Did you try to replicate the issue? and if so , please can you create a bug with a ticket so somebody eventually can debug the issue? Otherwise this will be never look at by your team and it is 100% repro.
                          I also have contacted ATF which I am sure they will send me back to you guys.
                          I will request a second login in Rithmic in Optimus and test the issue. And again this would be very easy to debug with access to the source code and see why Ninja is setting up the ghost order.

                              You can use plug-in mode in Rithmic Trader Pro to be connected to both NinjaTrader and Bookmap with a single login.

                              Please test in Optimus first with a single login in order to isolate if it's a problem that happens with 2 Rithmic logins that causes the desync.
