Using ATM with limit orders placed from the chart
I see I can place an order by right clicking the chart and selecting the order type (buy limit, buy market, sell limit, sell market) but I could not figure out how to do this with an ATM template. Is there a way to get NT8.1 to automatically add stop loss and profit taking orders when I trade this way? Thank you... -

Have you tried playing with Sim101 and right-clicking
in the chart to submit an order from the context menu?
Did you select an ATM strategy in the dropdown menu?
Did you notice how 'None' does nothing, but selecting
an ATM strategy submits the stop and target orders
after the entry order is filled?
Hint:
Make sure to select the ATM strategy before you
submit the orders from the right-click menu.

Point #1:
If your position is FLAT, the orders you enter on the
chart via the right click menu are entry orders.
Point #2:
If you have an ATM strategy selected in the Chart Trader,
then after the entry order is filled, the stop loss and
the target order(s) will automatically be submitted.
If 'None' is selected, then no ATM strategy is attached
to the entry order. So, duh, make sure you create an
ATM strategy and select it if you want NinjaTrader to
auto submit the stop and target orders.

Here's the kicker:
Your entry order could come from a button on the Chart
Trader panel --or-- from the context menu when you right
click inside the main chart panel. That's right, either
order entry method works.
In fact, did you know:
The order submission menu items in the right-click menu
are actually a part of the Chart Trader interface -- yep,
if you turn off Chart Trader, those menu options to submit
orders will no longer appear in the chart panel's right click
context menu.
Just my 2˘.

I did play with it, and ATM works well for me when I use the buttons on the chart trader dialog. It just didn't work when I placed an order by right clicking directly on the chart. I must have done something wrong, I'll figure out what. Thanks VERY MUCH for the help! I'll review your reply carefully and figure it out.
