Problem with entries per direction

Hope you guys are doing well,

I have a problem with entries per direction, I have a strategy built on Builder, with 2 entries per direction, and one entry logic for Longs, one entry logic for shorts, but in some cases ( as per screenshot attached), it exceeds the number of enries per direction exposing me to much more than what is expected.

I have tried Unique entries in entry handling, but still facing the same issue.

as seen in the screenshot, I have 3 positions opened, then 1 hit profit target, makes total entries opened 2, then then 2 more opened (numbered 4 & 5) before closing any of the previous positions.

Please note that this happened several times in the backtest.

Hello moewqasem,

Did you change the EntriesPerDirection value after the script was run?
If so, have you removed the instance of the strategy and added a new instance to pull the new defaults?
(The default properties are only pulled for new instances to the set the default values)

Are these orders market orders?
If not, are these orders being submitted at the same time?

Thanks for your prompt response,

No I haven't changed the entires per direction after the script was run, I have it set in the default properties in the Strategy builder.

yes, all are market orders, but definetly not being submitted at the same time, there are several hours difference between them.

May I have an export of the script to test on my end?

To export a NinjaTrader 8 NinjaScript so this can be shared and imported by the recipient do the following:

1. Click Tools -> Export -> NinjaScript Add-on...
2. Click the 'add' link -> check the box(es) for the script(s) and reference(s) you want to include
3. Click the 'Export' button
4. Enter the script name in the value for 'File name:'
5. Choose a save location -> click Save
6. Click OK to clear the export location message

By default your exported file will be in the following location:

• (My) Documents/NinjaTrader 8/bin/Custom/ExportNinjaScript/<export_file_name.zip>
