Multiple Account Connections - NYSE TICK Index

Hi NT Support,

I searched for this answer but I could not find it.

My main account connection is through rithmic and the various prop firms.
I also an account connection with IB.

I wanted to use the IB account connection just for the NYSE Tick Index since it is real-time.

How do I do that?

Hello ij001,

Thank you for the message.

By default, the NinjaTrader platform will use data from the connections that are established first.

If you are connecting to something that could technically provide "Index" data, it "Plugs" the hole and NinjaTrader pulls Index data from there (even though it isn't actually sending anything)


So, please use the guide below to force NinjaTrader to pull the Real-time and Historical Data for Indexes from the "Interactive Brokers" connection instead:

• How to set Preferred Market Data Connections
  • Restart NinjaTrader after making the changes and reconnect to everything.

From there, you should be able to see the ^TICK loading and updating as long as you are getting that real-time data from Interactive Brokers.
