Compatibility of chart templates

Hello,

Previously, I had shared some chart templates with people. With newer versions of NT, I am often told those templates no longer work. With a user base partially split on several different NT versions now, is there any document that states which templates saved in which versions are compatible with with versions? Because creating templates in the new version may not work for people running other versions, and creating them in older versions also makes people using the newest releases unable to use them. Quite the developer pickle!

Needless to say, I think this was a bad call to introduce this incompatibility! Is there a way to 'convert' templates between versions and what are the version-to-version compatibilities?

Hello,

Typically this error occurs when templates are made using features that are part of a prior release that have since been removed. To our knowledge, chart templates should be mostly compatible between both 8.1.2.1 and 8.0.28.0. Templates made in 8.0.28.0 should be automatically converted/transferred to the new 8.1.2.1 version as you update.

As always, any 3rd party scripts that are apart of these templates may need to be altered/removed however.
