Hide data series, higher timeframe bars without gaps

Hi,

I need to add a second hidden data series to the chart to use it as a data source for an indicator. The general solution for this is to set bars and wicks color for the "hidden" data transparent, but this approach leads to a serious side-effect in a specific case when the "hidden" series uses a lower timeframe - there are horizontal gaps between the main (visible) series bars on the chart.



Here is a 60-minute chart with a 30-minute invisible data series added. The problem gets more pronounced the bigger the difference in timeframes. The "hidden" bars are clearly plotted on the chart even though they are invisible.



Is there a way to avoid this and hide the second data series completely?

Unfortunately not, there is no option to hide it completely so it does not affect how the price bars of the other data series are plotted.

You can widen the price bars by holding the Alt button and press the arrow down button on your keyboard. You could also reduce the space between price bars by click and hold the left mouse button below the time axis and move to the right. This will compress the time axis, so you will see more price bars in the visible display as well.

Adjusting the bars' width is a pretty good workaround, thank you. Although all these steps make the setup quite cumbersome, so perhaps you will reconsider the "Visible" flag option which was removed from the data series settings.
