    NT8 exits "Unhandled Exception.." when trying to import Ninja Script Assy

    Hi,

    Recently I tried to import a updated NinjaScript indicator. The PC desktop directory opens up to search for NT8 script file, but before I can select the NT8 script zip file, Ninja Trader exits with message "Unhandled exception: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt".

    Attached is a screen capture of message.

    Otherwise NinjaTrader 8 appears to be working.

    Thanks for your post.

    This error could occur if the Documents folder is hidden in Windows File Explorer.

    Please follow the steps below to unhide the NinjaTrader 8 folder.
    • Navigate to Documents folder.
    • Right-click NinjaTrader 8 subfolder and select "Properties."
    • Uncheck box for "Hidden."
    • Click "OK."
    ​After unhiding the NinjaTrader 8 folder, restart NinjaTrader and test to see if the behavior persists.

    If the behavior persists, please write in to support[at]ninjatrader[dot]com and attach your Log and Trace files to your email by following the steps below so we may investigate the matter further.

    ​In the subject of your email include ATTN: BrandonH and in the body of the email include a link to this forum post.

    Follow the steps below to manually attach your log and trace files to your email.
    • Open your NinjaTrader folder under, "Documents" (sometimes called, "My Documents")
    • Right click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
    • Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to this email.
    • Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.

      Hi Brandon,
      thanks, checked that - the NT8 folder was not hidden but Read Only was checked thought that some of the sub-folders need to be written to such as the workspaces or templates etc - so I unchecked that and made all subfolders and files not Read Only and am going to retry and see if the problem goes away.

      As an after thought - are there sub folders or files in the NT 8 directory that should be Read Only?

        The NinjaTrader folder within the Documents should have the 'Read-only" box checked (enabled).

          Hi Brandon,

          thanks - Hidden was unchecked, so tried again after rebooting, but same exception and program exit. So I have sent the zipped Log and Trace folders to your attention.
