Is Ninjatrader still free?

Hi,

I just reinstalled everything on my pc and got NT latest version and once downloaded the only connection option is playback. I cant setup a IB connection.

On NT website in option we have Download Desktop Platform

Use Desktop Platform with Multiple Brokers

Purchase a Multi-Broker add-on to use the platform with supported 3rd party brokers.


How do i get to use it for free with my ib account?

First, have you enabled the 'Multi-provider' option?

Goto Tools > Options > General > Preferences

This is a critical new option in the newer 8.1.x.x releases.

Have you previously imported your license key?

The new 8.1.x.x releases do away with licenses
completely -- in fact, NinjaTrader no longer sells
license keys at all -- everything is now subscription
based.

However, the 'entitlements' represented by your
license key can (and should be) imported, but
you'll need to do this inside the client portal on
their website (aka, your Account Dashboard).

Did you ever purchase a lifetime license key?

If you already own a lifetime license key, when you import
that key into your Account Dashboard on the client portal
at NinjaTrader.com -- poof! -- you will automatically have
the Multi-Broker entitlement, and it will be reflected in the
Desktop, and you should have the ability to create an IB
connection.

Of course, you'll first need to enable 'Multi-provider', then
the IB connection should become available.

What's that? You say you never bought a lifetime license key?

Well, bummer. NinjaTrader license keys are no longer for
sale, so, you kinda missed the boat on that perk (which is:
all previously purchased lifetime license keys will receive
the M/B entitlement for free after you import the key).

What to do?
Purchase the Multi-Broker add-on, which is $99/month.
