There Can Be Only One Instance of Ninjatrader

I'm using autohotkey to refresh an NT8 chart via a hotkey. I'm activating the NT8 chart and then simulating a Ctrl+Shift+R. Most of the time it works, but every once in a while I get the error message indicating that only one instance of Ninjatrader can be open at one time.

Putting aside the hotkeys, etc. How would I trigger this error message manually? Thanks...

    Hello rc 5781,

    Thank you for your post.

The message typically is due to a stuck background process when trying to start NinjaTrader.

I have not seen this occur with the platform actively running.

If you are unable to open NinjaTrader and receiving this message you may use the Task Manager to end the stuck background process:
    • Please open Task Manager by hitting CTRL + SHIFT + ESC on your keyboard
    • Click 'More details' if necessary
    • Under 'Background Processes' select NinjaTrader
    • Click 'End Task'
    • Test by opening NinjaTrader

You can trigger the error manually by trying to open of NT when it's already running

Yeah, I realized this after I posted. I don't think that's what's going on, though. It must be related to not having enough delay between minimizing, maximizing, and refreshing the NT8 windows.

Maybe something else going on in your autohotkey that's selecting the desktop icon shortcut and hitting enter?
