Instrument-specific Alerts do not survive change of instrument in chart window

If I set an alert on a specific instrument, it doesn't stay with that instrument.
When I open a different instrument in that same chart window, I receive a dialog asking me to remove or move the alert... I don't get it.
Is there not a way to set global alerts, so I get them for whatever instrument regardless of where I am in NT?

Thank you for posting.

Unfortunately there is not an option to create a global alert within NinjaTrader and currently there alert is tied to the specific window it was created within.

May I say after X years of 8 being available... That's ridiculous!

I'm thinking my only alternative would be to have a specific window with all the instruments Data Series in it, and set alerts within that window.
